Painter James Rosenquist discusses his living as an artist and his work. His chronicle, Painting below Zero: Notes on a Life in Art, recounts his early days in the Midwest, his move to New York in 1955, his time as a sign painter for film and theater billboards, the art dealers that helped shape his career, and the community of artists he was inspired by.
