L/A Arts Gallery 5 is accepting submissions for the February exhibit, Up Close and Personal. This themed, juried exhibit is open to all Maine artists and gives artists license to interpret the theme as they wish.

L/A Arts Gallery 5 in Lyceum Hall at 49 Lisbon Street, Lewiston, opened in April 2007 and has exhibited extraordinary work of more than 100 Maine artists. Eric and Carrie Agren have donated the space adjacent Fuel Bistro to L/A Arts for this very successful and highly visible gallery. The high ceilings and an original brick wall lend a very upscale loft feeling to this unique gallery space.

The downtown gallery features and promotes works of fine art in all media. It serves as an educational resource for those who are familiar with original art and those for whom original art is a new experience. Through exhibitions and programs, Gallery 5 provides a unique venue for contemporary art in Maine.

Submission deadline has been extended to Monday, January 5. Artwork must be submitted on CD, in jpg image format, and mailed or delivered to L/A Arts, 221 Lisbon Street, Lewiston, ME 04240.
