Aetion, also known as Echion, a renowed Greek Painter lived in the first half of the 2nd century. It has generally been supposed that he lived during the time of Alexander the Great.Aetion had specialized particularly in the art of mixing and laying on his colors.Hence he was well known known for the beauty of his coloring.

Career:

One of his painting, representing the nuptials of Alexander and Roxana was widely appreciated for its artistic approach.This painting initiated a fashion which influenced the entire Hellenistic period.This painting excited such admiration when exhibited at the Olympic Games, that Proxenidas, one of the judges, gave the artist his daughter in marriage to Aetias.
